Boat Made of Sand
20" x 12"
Having spent much of my life around fresh water and on boats, I created a boat made largely of sand; Sand, lily pads, reeds, etc. are natural water filters and purifiers, with other natural binding agents like oats and egg. I felt it important to spend some time reflecting on my childhood, our Great Lakes, our co-existence with them, and created a video showing my exploration with these materials and thoughts.
